Dear Parents/Carers

We are look to recruit a new Parent Local Academy Councillor (Parent Governor).

By volunteering to become a Parent LAC, you have the unique opportunity to make a difference, not only for your children, but for children in years to come.

Parent Local Academy Councillors are:

➔ well placed to understand Parent views;

➔ In a good position to remind the council of how matters being discussed affect Parent;

➔ able to vote how they wish, rather than how others would like;

➔ in a good position to help the council to communicate effectively with Parent

➔ equal in status to all other Local Academy Councillors.

Parent Local Academy Councillors are NOT:

➔ expected to gather the views of other parents and take these to the council;

➔ simply expected to represent the interests of parents;

➔ a link between parents and the council;

➔ expected to vote as instructed by other parents
