Arts Mark Award

The District CofE Primary School has used this Artsmark journey to develop the arts throughout your school. You have reached a point where the arts are now consistently valued and championed by the Headteacher and SLT and the impact is felt across the curriculum and school. You have spent time developing progressive sequenced arts curriculums. Teachers have regular in house CPD to support their delivery of arts subjects. You have attended CPD at your local secondary school and worked with artists to develop nursery and Key Stage 1 teacher skills. Teacher confidence and the quality of delivery has risen as a result of this. There are an increasing range of arts activities that give children opportunities to explore their creativity through the arts. All children learn an instrument and perform, including for parents. You carefully map out arts visits and trips for each phase and where funds have limited trips offside bring in artists and theatre groups. Trips have included Liverpool Philharmonic and performances by Key Strings. You have used links to creative practitioners to promote the arts as careers. You have considered how your arts and cultural provision is representative of the diversity of the school as well as wider society through the artists, art movements and heritage you study. You have also spent time planning how your arts curriculum is inclusive of all learners. There is whole setting planning for arts and cultural teaching, learning and experiences for all groups of children and SLT review and revise plans to improve the quality of provision and outcomes. You have set up a pupil arts council and have plans to develop their role so they can contribute actively to the planning and delivery of authentic arts, cultural and creative experiences
