Our STEM Ambassdors are a small group of children – one from each KS2 class – who have a keen interest in one or more of the STEM subjects. We meet once a month to discuss ways in which we can further raise children’s experiences of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in our school.
Some of the tasks the children have been given responsibility for is to meet regularly with our Science Lead to check that classes have the resources they need and feedback suggestions for new equipment; nominate Star Scientists in their class each half term, who are then presented with a special certificate in celebration assembly; participate in science events with our network partner schools, organise competitions and keep our school library updated with the latest science books to inspire our future scientists!
Currently, we are in the process of creating a science newsletter for parents and carers, which will be sent out half termly, with lots of information about what the children are learning, ideas for science days out and activities and competitions to get involved with as a family.
